Drake says he is taking some time off from making music so that he can make his health a priority.
The rapper shared the news on Friday’s episode of his SiriusXM series Table For One, the same day that his latest album For All The Dogs dropped.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit,” he said. “I’m gonna be honest. I might, I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you.”

Though the God’s Plan artist didn’t give many details on what’s been ailing him, he said he just needs “to focus on my health first and foremost” and will share more “soon enough.”
“Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he explained. “I was just saying what it is now. I’m saying I was gonna say it. I’ll say it. So I, I need to focus on, on my health and I need to get right.”
It has been a busy few years for the rapper who released two albums last year, including Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss with 21 Savage. And now he has released his eighth studio album, For All The Dogs, which features 23 songs.
Drake has also been touring with 21 Savage for their It’s All a Blur tour since July. The 56-show North American jaunt is set to end in October.
Once he wraps up his current projects, the rapper said he plans to “lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”
