‘Suits’ Creator on Surprise Resurgence, Potential Spinoffs and Writer Pay
Like seemingly everyone else on the internet, Aaron Korsh and his preteen daughter are bingeing their way through Suits. They’re almost done with seven of the legal dramedy’s nine seasons, and the daughter is enthralled — a huge relief to the elder Korsh, who, incidentally, created the show. The series stars Patrick Adams as Mike […]

Bill Simmons, Alex Cooper, Emma Chamberlain and 36 More on The Future of Podcasting
Ask the most powerful people in podcasting whether we’ve reached “peak podcast” and the answer is a resounding no. Or, more specifically, a “hell no,” an “absolutely not” and a “don’t be ridiculous!” Still, the medium isn’t without its challenges. “Podcasting has gone from being an industry that had a ton of speculative money thrown […]

FX’s latest installment of Fargo is being pushed to Nov. 21 amid Hollywood’s dual strikes. ‘Beef’ Creator Lee Sung Jin on his Original Ending, “Life-Affirming” Feedback and Season 2 Plan
For Lee Sung Jin, Beef is the first show that bears his name as the creator and showrunner — it’s also the most of himself he’s ever poured into a project. When the 10 episodes dropped on Netflix in early April, critics fawned over the dark comedy and its culturally specific study of anger, which […]

Even ‘The Bear’ Co-Showrunner Joanna Calo Was Tempted to Have Carmy and Sydney Hook Up
Though The Bear returned for its widely praised second season earlier this summer, it’s the show’s first (and similarly lauded) eight-episode foray that was recently nominated for 13 Emmys, including one for outstanding comedy. Joanna Calo, who writes, runs and directs the culinary series alongside creator Christopher Storer, insists she was never particularly interested in […]

The ‘Narcos’ Showrunner Is Ready to Tackle a New Drug War
Eric Newman didn’t set out to be a writer. In fact, segueing to writing, much less showrunning, wasn’t even his idea. The veteran producer, whose résumé was lined with films like Children of Men and Dawn of the Dead, was down in Colombia making Narcos when, he says, Netflix urged him to take the reins. […]
