Chances are, if you’ve seen Sia onstage at any point in recent years, her face was most likely shielded by an oversize (and often very colorful) wig. But the Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter left the extra hair at home Sunday when she turned up to the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles to attend the 5th Daytime Beauty Awards.
Not only did she take the stage and show off her full face, but what she revealed under the lights was also brand-new. “I’m a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn’t lie about shit,” explained the 47-year-old who has been candid during interviews about everything from depression and divorce to sobriety and creativity. “I got an amazing facelift from Dr. Talei. He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work — and not just for the pop stars of the world.”

The admission came as Sia was about to present Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei an award for outstanding achievement in medicine at an event designed to celebrate the science behind beauty, health and wellness by honoring professionals in such fields as medicine, fitness, aesthetics, skin care, styling, cannabis and more. Other guests included Jennifer Lopez, Ashley Tisdale, Debbie Gibson, Ming-Na Wen, Sam Asghari and Vanessa Williams, while the honorees list featured Joanna Vargas, Chaz Dean, Tracy Anderson, Molly Sims and Byredo, among others.
While it’s unclear when Sia went under the knife or what particular type of facelift she signed up for, Talei is well known for the AuraLyft procedure. He recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he saw a 30 percent uptick in the procedure during Hollywood’s dual strikes as so many entertainment industry professionals suddenly found themselves out of work and with lots of downtime that could be used for treatment recovery. “A couple of months before the strikes officially began, we were hearing from a lot of our clients requesting consults for my AuraLyft facelift,” Talei explained of the procedure, which has a starting fee of $75,000, plus three weeks of downtime and three months before the person is able to get back in front of a camera.
Sia, who has written tracks for Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Ne-Yo, among others, has in other interviews revealed that she’s had liposuction twice on her chin. “I was showing someone in the back my before-and-afters right before I came on,” continued Sia from the podium. “People go, ‘You look nice.’ I’m like, ‘Dr. Ben Talei facelift’ for anything you could ever want. I love him, I can’t say enough good about him.”
